Home Studies

We are currently in the middle of the Home Study process. About two weeks ago we had our very first home study interview, where they came into our actual house to talk with us. Philip and I of course spent several days and even weeks preparing and making sure we had everything in the house just right. It wasn't a white glove test of course, but we really did prepare for it like it was! We had the whole house sparkling!! Of course all of our anxieties were really put to ease as soon as our social worker, Jessica, arrived. She was terriffic!!! She made us feel very comfortable with the whole situation. Talking with her was really like talking to a close friend. She asked us several questions about what our life is like, how we met, our motivation to adopt, how we interact with one another and make decisions, etc. After we had talked for a while and answered all of her questions we quickly showed her around the house. We were actually able to show her the room that will eventually be the baby's room, as we just recently had selected the room it would be a few weeks ago. We don't have any baby stuff yet of course, the idea of putting baby stuff in a room when you have no idea when there will be a baby in it seems too weird to me right now. We have started clearing out furniture though and and making room that way. Anyway the first home study interview seemed to go really well! This week we have two more interviews both at the Agape office. One they are completed Jessica will start writing up our completed home study application. Please keep us on your prayers this week! This whole process is very exciting, but it can also be overwhelming and scary all at the same time. I have faith though tha
t in the end it will definitely all be worth it as soon as we have that new little one on our arms!
